The Ultra 82 Shines

Skintrack recently posted a brief review of the Hagan Ultra 82. I'll update when the full review is posted:

Unless you are always skiing knee deep powder then a ski between 80-90mm might be all you need... 😉 also, such size is preferred by many for early season and spring skiing.⠀

It shines in variable conditions, hard pack, crust and wind affected snowpack - basically, any time when conditions get less than ideal.⠀

With a classic camber, somewhat shorter rocker and being stiffer overall, the Ultra 82 won't float in dry powder as well as softer or wider skis, but it will do great if you get used to it.⠀

At 82mm wide and dimensions of 117-82-102 it weighs only 1,080g in 164cm length. We have been skiing them in 176cm length.⠀

The ski is stiff torsionally, has a predictable progressive stiff flex yet also absorbs vibrations quite well. This makes it very stable and provides really good edge grip.⠀

The core material is ultra light Paulownia wood with an overall construction consisting of carbon top and bottom layers, Diamond Edge Cap and Micro ABS Sidewalls.⠀

Overall, it is a well designed and built ski touring and ski mountaineering ski.⠀
