Great daily driver in the Spring . I skied down 8000 ft of variable vertical on a PNW volcano last Spring with no issues . The tip of this ski is narrower than I prefer from experience but they have handled everything as expected for a 164 length 79 waist ski . I’d buy again.

Dad Racer and Much much more !

Got these Ultra 79 as my "Dad Racer" skis to race skimo with my young son and 5 races in and alot of training feet and miles and they are everything i could hope for and more. I mounted them with an ATK Timepacer binding( look them up) Their just a class of skiability and forgiveness above an actually race ski with a little more under foot for my 5'11" and 210 lbs. I've been skiing them with a light race boot but i can't wait to take them out with my zero g peak carbons in some spring corn and steeper backcountry skiing. they are light and stiff but flex consistently and are super predictable and pleasant and fun overall. Did I say they are light! Great set up as a cross over racer and tech/spring mountain ski!

Glad you like them Jesse!

Light and Fast!

My new Hagan Ultra 79s are my favorite skis when I want to move quickly and still hit my favorite stash.

Thanks Dave.  We are glad you like them.  They are my favorite too!

One ski to rule them all (for big days!). I've used these from big mountaineering lines to farming powder in low angle meadows and they do not dissapoint. At nearly 6'5, I'm a big guy but I have no problem getting enough float on these skis. They handle my weight appropriately and charge phenomenoly through crud and crust. The lightness is unmatched making large days all the easier and faster. This is hands down my favorite touring ski I've ever had.

Ultra 79s are the perfect ski!

Hut trips, great snow, variable snow, spring days, this ski handles it all. They have allowed me to go further and maximize fun uphill and down!

Excellent Mix

I mounted a race binding on my 79s and ski it mostly on a pair of plastic race boots (but could just as easily step up to a heavier weight touring-forward boot). The hit list for my 79s grew bigger by the day this spring as it became my ski of choice for nearly every outing - Crooked Couloir, training days at Caribou, Snow Lion, Diamond lake Couloir and many lines in the East Portal zone. The weight is perfect for longer approaches and big days out, and the construction of the ski made for excellent turns on these bigger lines.

Would also recommend this for those that want to enjoy lighter weight underfoot on their after-work skin.

Great ski

The perfect all around ski light enough to be fun but super fun to ski. A quiver killer.

Thanks Bill.  Glad you like them!  I hope we get to ski together in Steamboat soon.

The perfect ski?

Light enough for fitness laps and big approaches, confidence inspiring enough for big burly lines. I think this may be perfect mountaineering ski. Would recommend pairing with a race binding

Glad you like them Nick.  I use mine for in bounds laps all the time.  Love them.

VERSATILE!

Light enough to race. Big enough to ski pow confidently with race boots. Plus they look cool. Super happy with this ski and the Pure 8 binding. I am 5'10" and like the 172 length.
